Casey Anderson

Former Citizens League of Montgomery County Board Member

Casey Anderson is a lawyer with more than two decades of experience in law, politics, and journalism.

Casey was formerly chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Martin Meehan and vice president of international public policy at AOL Time Warner.

He has written articles for academic and trade journals on jury behavior, and he is the co-author (with Joshua Horwitz) of Guns, Democracy, and the Insurrectionist Idea, a book published by the University of Michigan Press in 2009. Casey's work as a journalist has appeared in the Boston Globe, the Denver Post, and several other dailies.

In addition to his role with the Citizens League, Casey is a member of the boards of the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA), the Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, and the Silver Spring YMCA. He is also the vice president of the Woodside Civic Association and parliamentary vice chair of the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board.

Casey lives in Silver Spring with his wife, Mary Boyle, their son, Kelly, and their daughter, Tyler.

He enjoys reading with his children, mountain biking, and rooting for the Denver Broncos.
