Joining the Citizens League of Montgomery County is simple and free. By joining you will become a 'Member Citizen' and be given access to all the tools and information that our collective strength can muster. There are only a few basic restrictions. You must be a registered voter in Montgomery County to join and donate to the League. Membership is free, but we do ask for a voluntary donation of $10 (donations are not tax deductable). You may donate more if you like, but annual donations are capped at $250 per member. We seek to keep the League as grassroots oriented as possible. Our membership year conforms to the calendar year. Sign-up today and tell other people in your network or circle. We do occasionally partner with organizations such as civic associations. If you have a particular issue you would like to partner with us on, please contact any Board member.
CLMC needs volunteers for a broad spectrum of activities. CLMC holds events, conducts canvassing, and holds policy forums on a diverse set of issues. If solely being a Member Citizen is not enough for you, and you feel a desire to do more, please contact our volunteer coordinator for the most current volunteer opportunities.
Do you see a potential solution for a County challenge? Speak Up! First, become a Member Citizen. Second, contact one of our Board members. Keep in mind that CLMC does not focus on global or national issues. Our focus is Montgomery County and because of this we will not take up issues such as abortion, war, or foreign relations. Instead we may engage in discussions such as, but not limited to County land use, education, transit, and economic growth. We encourage vigorous debate and welcome diverse points of view, but we reserve the right to reject submissions that in our judgment are abusive, repetitive, or off-topic.
